Very early, when they first join you, and have not yet maxed out their troop capacity, you can give them a bunch of units and you'll get a massive +rep boost as a result.ĭirty Trick - If you see an announcement that a Lord you don't like has joined your faction, and you have not yet talked to him to accept his service, then don't talk to him. This will also ensure that you have at least three large "armies" led by your most loyal vassals running around instead of a bunch of small ones led by a bunch of jerks. Limit the number of vassals you give important fiefs to only three or so and make sure they're Lords with good traits and you have high or perfect relationship with them. They also take the larger relationship hits. Lords with negative traits are vassals you can't keep happy if you don't award them fiefs. (Unless, and I'm not sure, you award it to their enemy.) If you have a perfect relatioship (99/100 forget which) with a vassal that has upstanding/honorable/goodnatured or martial, I think, you won't lose relationship with them when you award fiefs.
